AI-Powered Dental Forensic Identification System for HURU
Designing and developing WinID3 — a secure, scalable dental forensic application enabling accurate antemortem and postmortem identification through AI-assisted comparison.

When Responsibility Became the Requirement
Some software projects are built for convenience. Others are built for growth. But forensic software is built for responsibility. When HURU approached EvoDynamics Vision, the request wasn’t about creating another platform—it was about building a system that could support real-world investigations, disaster victim identification (DVI), and legal forensic casework with precision, security, and credibility.
HURU Team
“We need a dental forensic identification module that can stand up in real investigations. Accuracy isn’t optional here.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“Understood. In forensic systems, every decision must be traceable, every record must be secure, and every comparison must be defensible.”
HURU Team
“We want something like WinID3, but modern, scalable, and integrated into our platform.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“Then we don’t just rebuild the tool,we engineer an entire forensic-grade identification system from the ground up.”
Project Overview
HURU, a forensic technology provider, required a robust and future-ready dental identification system to support human identification in forensic investigations, disaster victim identification (DVI), and legal casework. EvoDynamics Vision partnered with HURU to design and develop WinID3 a secure, user-friendly, and AI-assisted ASP.NET MVC application integrated into the HURU forensic platform. The system enables accurate comparison of antemortem and postmortem dental records across multiple formats while ensuring strict forensic compliance.
Business & Technical Challenges in Dental Forensic Identification
Dental forensic identification is not standard healthcare software. It carries legal weight, investigative sensitivity, and operational urgency. Every feature must function under strict security, accuracy, and forensic audit requirements.
- Manual comparison of dental records was time-consuming and prone to human error
- Data existed across multiple formats including JPEG, TIFF, PDF, and DICOM
- Strict requirements for data security, integrity, and access control
- Need for seamless database export/import for cross-case comparative analysis
- Requirement for multilingual localization to support global forensic teams
- Platform needed to be extensible for future forensic modules
The Moment Complexity Hit
The early prototype revealed the real challenge: forensic data isn’t clean. It isn’t consistent. And it doesn’t arrive in one format. It arrives as fragmented evidence, scanned documents, radiographic images, and incomplete dental charts.
HURU Team
“Some cases have TIFF scans, others have PDFs, and some are DICOM radiographs. We can’t restrict formats—investigators will use whatever they have.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“Then the system must support all formats without breaking forensic consistency. We’ll build a unified ingestion and visualization layer.”
HURU Team
“Also, we need export/import across cases. Investigators should be able to compare records from one database to another.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“Understood. We’ll implement structured database exchange mechanisms with validation rules to prevent corruption and maintain integrity.”
HURU Team
“And we can’t compromise security. This data is extremely sensitive.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“Security will be built into the architecture itself role-based access control, audit-ready logging, and encrypted storage handling.”
The Solution: WinID3 Dental Forensic Application
EvoDynamics Vision architected and delivered WinID3 as a modular, AI-enabled dental forensic application built on ASP.NET MVC, seamlessly integrated within the HURU forensic ecosystem. The platform was engineered with forensic investigators, technical administrators, and compliance auditors in mind—balancing usability with strict forensic-grade security requirements.
EvoDynamics Vision
“We’ll build WinID3 as a forensic grade system secure by design, modular by architecture, and scalable by default.”
HURU Team
“We need something that investigators can use easily, but it must remain legally defensible.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“That means audit trails, consistent evidence handling, and data integrity validation at every step.”

Designed for Long-Term Forensic Platform Growth
WinID3 was not built as a standalone dental tool. It was designed as a foundation module inside the HURU forensic ecosystem future-ready and modular enough to expand into additional identification technologies without restructuring the platform.
Planned future modules include:
- Tattoo recognition and classification
- Facial recognition and biometric analysis
- Forensic anthropology data management
Results & Impact for HURU
WinID3 significantly improved the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of HURU’s forensic identification workflow. The platform reduced the burden of manual comparison while improving consistency in forensic case decisions.
- Reduced manual forensic comparison time significantly across active cases
- Improved accuracy and consistency in dental identification workflows
- Enabled secure collaboration between forensic teams across jurisdictions
- Supported multi-format ingestion without compromising usability
- Provided a scalable foundation for future forensic expansion modules
HURU Team
“This is exactly what we needed. It’s secure, professional, and powerful. It feels like a real forensic system now.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“That was the goal. Forensic work needs more than software,it needs systems that investigators can trust.”
HURU Team
“We’re ready to expand this into other identification technologies.”
EvoDynamics Vision
“And WinID3 was engineered for that future from day one.”
